Welcome back Dr. Labelle!

Although he is not quite “new”, we are very pleased to welcome back Dr. Guy Labelle. Starting this September, Dr. Labelle will be opening his family practice alongside his RPN Michelle Guénette-Leblanc, (shown in the photo) and his office manager, Mélanie Labelle. Dr. Guy Labelle will be working in our Emergency Department and will provide in-patient care here at the WNGH. Welcome back Dr. Labelle! Bon succès!

Golfing in the rain, all “FORE!” a great cause!

A good time was had by all at the annual Moe Mantha Jr. Charity Golf Classic on Saturday, July 25th, and not even the downpour could dampen the spirit of the 110 golfers that came out to Laurentide Golf Club to support the fundraising event and play the tournament. This year’s proceeds were directed towards the purchase of a new Chemotherapy Hood which is required to continue to prepare chemotherapy medication for our cancer patients, here at the West Nipissing General Hospital (WNGH).

The tournament was won by Moe Jr., Ashley, and Devin Mantha who came in at -12. After 18 holes of gold and a tasty steak dinner, some wonderful prizes were handed out to all the participants. As the “part-tee” continued throughout the evening, hockey memorabilia was auctioned off including a signed Doug Gilmour Jersey, an autographed Guy Lafleur portrait and an autographed Larry Robinson portrait, all graciously donated by a WNGH board member, Jamie Restoule!

A big thank you to our corporate sponsor Savage Ford, our media sponsor Moose FM, our gold sponsor Dr. Richard Sloan, and to our many silver and bronze sponsors who generously donate every year to this fundraising event. A special thank you is also extended to Moe Jr. himself and the Mantha family for choosing the West Nipissing General Hospital as their charity of choice once again this year!

Until next year!

A big thank you to the “Blast from the past” Committee and the Chevalier de Colomb Conseil 2566

Sneak preview………WNGH wishes to express sincere thanks to the “Blast from the Past” Committee and the Chevalier de Colomb Conseil 2566 for their generous donation to the West Nipissing General Hospital Foundation equipment fund. This very generous donation will kick start the purchase of our new Chemotherapy Hood. Annually over 500 patients receive chemotherapy at the WNGH. Providing such a service to our cancer patients is all about quality service and providing care closer to home. More details to follow in the Tribune on this bighearted donation from such wonderful community partners!
